Aztech Device Earns Smart Energy Certification

The Aztech In-Home Display has earned ZigBee’s Smart Energy certification. The device connects wirelessly to most smart meters and helps utilities to reach their conservation goals. Aztech is a leading provider of energy conservation and demand management products for the home, is pleased to announce that its In-Home Display has achieved
Responding to the announcement, Aztech’s President and CEO Michael Mun said the certification positions the Aztech In-Home Display as the Face of the Smart Grid. “It is extremely gratifying to reach this milestone in the evolution of our in-home display.  Completing ZigBee certification is an important step towards achieving large-scale deployment of our product across North America and around the world.”

Aztech’s In-Home Display is targeted at consumers who want an easy-to-use tool that facilitates efficient energy usage. The sweeping motion and changing colours of the device’s patent-pending light bar provide instant notification of time-of-use periods with detailed information displayed on a graphical screen.  Enabling consumers to view their electricity usage and estimated costs in real time allows for better management of the power consumption. 

The ZigBee Alliance is a global ecosystem of more than 340 companies companies that create wireless solutions for commercial and consumer applications in energy management. The In-Touch Display was tested by National Technical Systems (NTS) Inc. for certification.
