Silver Spring Networks has agreed to provide its smart grid platform and related software and services to Baltimore Gas and Electric Company (BGE) which recently received approved for its Smart Grid Initiative. Silver Spring will be BGE’s prime contractor for networking technology, smart meters, gas modules, and related solutions
BGE president and chief executive officer Kenneth W. Silver Spring’s Smart Energy Platform will create a secure, scalable, open IPv6 platform that provides an advanced metering solution, gas modules, fully managed Utility IQ back office environments, and deployment services to ensure a quality implementation of BGE’s smart grid.
The solution also helps Maryland meet its aggressive energy efficiency and conservation goals, improve services, and add green tech jobs.
