Calico Partner’s with EPA’s ENERGY STAR Program

Calico Energy Services has become an ENERGY STAR partner. Through its voluntary partnership with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s ENERGY STAR Program, Calico will work with utilities and building managers to improve the energy efficiency of large commercial properties.

Calico’s Green Certification software from its Energy Intelligence Suite energy management platform is driving widespread commercial adoption of ENERGY STAR. To date, more than 300 million square feet of commercial building space has been measured and submitted to ENERGY STAR using the product.

Chicago’s Commonwealth Edison (ComEd) has used Calico’s Green Certification module for more than two years, receiving awards from both the Association of Energy Services Professionals (AESP) and the EPA for their building energy usage program.

Kevin Bricknell, Program Manager, Marketing and Environmental Programs at ComEd says, “With Calico’s solution, building managers in the Chicago area are now empowered to quickly benchmark their building’s energy usage.  In fact, they can now easily baseline and evaluate building-wide energy consumption, set investment priorities, verify and quantify energy efficiency investments, and work toward gaining EPA recognition.”

Green Certification is available throughout the United States as an economical, subscription-based software service. It is the only energy management solution designed to facilitate the submission of building-wide energy usage data to ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager, the program’s interactive energy management tool.
