Siemens Energy is collaborating with eMeter to supply Southern Maryland Electric Cooperative (SMECO) with eMeter EnergyIP meter data management system (MDMS). Siemens will integrate the MDMS with SMECO’s primary operational and customer service systems. This integration helps SMECO reach the EmPOWER Maryland goals established by Governor Martin O’Malley, which seek a 15 percent reduction in total electric usage on a per capita basis by 2015.
