Sensus Unveils Transceivers for Gas Utility Meters

Sensus has introduced SmartPoint GM transceivers for two-way communication with natural gas utility meters, which enables walk-by, drive-by, and fixed-base metering communications. The devices are easily installed on existing residential, commercial, or industrial meters and enable system-wide data collection and monitoring for improved customer service and operational efficiency. In addition, the transceivers are interoperable and designed to fit gas meters from a variety of manufacturers.

Albuquerque Utility Selects Sensus for Smart Water Meters

The Albuquerque Bernalillo County Water Utility Authority has selected Sensus to provide its FlexNet communications network for an advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) program. The utility will deploy FlexNet across its service territory and retrofit all commercial meters with smart endpoints to improve operational efficiency and adhere to water conservation programs in the metro Albuquerque area.

Eon and Sensus Settle Legal Disputes

The patent lawsuits between Eon Corporation and Sensus have been settled. Eon, which provides wireless telemetry technologies, including advanced meter reading, has licensed its legacy patent portfolio invented by company engineer Gil Dinkins, to Sensus, which provides FlexNet-branded, tower-based, smart grid communications networks and water, gas and electric utility meters.

Talquin Co-op Chooses Sensus for Florida Metering Project

Talquin Electric Cooperative is implementing Sensus technologies for its advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) and smart metering program. The deployment will service all 54,000 residential, commercial, and industrial members in its 2,600 square mile territory. Talquin began deploying the smart meter installation in December 2010 and expects installation to be completed by early 2012.

SECO Selects Sensus

SECO Energy has partnered with Sensus, which will provide the Florida co-op with its FlexNet Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) communications network and more than 172,000 electric meters equipped with remote connect and disconnect capabilities.

Sensus Partners with NRTC

The National Rural Telecommunications Cooperative (NRTC) is partnering with Sensus as a value added reseller, through which NRTC will offer its members Sensus smart grid technologies including the FlexNet advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) system, smart meters, distribution automation, and demand response solutions.
