Smart Grid communications provider Tantalus is sponsoring a Smart Grid conference hosted by Chattanooga utility Electric Power Board (EPB) on May 5 at The Chattanooga Hotel. The event includes an offsite tour of EPB’s Smart Grid program, which features Tantalus’ advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) technology. EPB is currently deploying Tantalus’ Homerun Network, a solution that enables the utility to use its Fiber to the Home (FTTH) infrastructure to connect hundreds of thousands of utility endpoints while providing customers with internet, phone, and TV media services.
Tantalus, which provides two-way, real-time data communications for utilities, has appointed energy industry veteran Ron Holcomb as Vice President of Business Development. In his new position, Holcomb will guide Tantalus’ business development initiatives for its smart grid communications technology. Tantalus’ TUNet communications systems are deployed at utilities throughout North America, helping customers better manage their energy resources.
