In the GTM Research report, The Emergence of Meter Data Management (MDM): A Smart Grid Information Strategy, eMeter was named the overall leader in meter data management (MDM), ranked ahead of both Oracle and Itron. The report stated eMeter earned the top spot based on “the strength of its overall MDM platform” and because it is “rapidly building out a line of related software products.”
Taiwan’s Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) has selected eMeter’s EnergyIP information platform and customer Web portal for use in its upcoming Smart Grid pilot program. ITRI, a research organization mandated to strengthen the technological competitiveness of Taiwan, says Energy IP was chosen for its reliability and scalability, and proven success in the market.
eMeter has been selected by Kansas-based Westar Energy to provide smart grid software to initiate its SmartStar program in Lawrence, Kansas. The $19 million SmartStar program was designed to give consumers better insight into their electricity usage. The project is being funded through a Department of Energy Smart Grid Investment Grant.
