Sensus Opens Smart Meter Manufacturing Facility in China

Sensus has established a new smart meter manufacturing and assembly facility in China’s Fujian Province. The facility was designed to produce 150,000 meters yearly to help meet the region’s growing demand for advanced meters.

Sensus president Randy Bays notes, “Quality is the way we set ourselves apart from the competition. This factory builds upon that strength, adding significantly to both the superiority and breadth of our solutions.”

The facility, which became operational this past February, is producing the WPD, WSD, MeiTwin, and 420PC meters.

Jianing Zha, Sensus China’s general manager, adds: “We are extremely proud to have a new, state-of-the-art facility with the most efficient processes in China. Along with our existing expertise and strong interest in the China market, this will open a new chapter for Sensus’ growth plans in the Asia Pacific Region.”

The Fuzhou facility is expected to meet demand for Sensus meters throughout Asia including Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Vietnam as well as Oceania, South America, and Europe.
