According to Landis+Gyr, Gridstream MDMS complements Central Lincoln’s existing smart grid investments, which include advanced meters from Landis+Gyr, Gridstream radio frequency (RF) network, and a dynamic voltage management solution. The Central Lincoln is Oregon’s fourth-largest electric utility. Its service area covers 700 square miles with approximately 55,000 residents.
Bruce Lovelin, Central Lincoln’s chief engineer and manager of systems engineering, says, “We are pleased to expand our relationship with Landis+Gyr with the selection of the Gridstream MDMS for our smart grid operations. When it became clear we needed a scalable MDMS to support our increase in data volume, the cloud-based Gridstream MDMS was the right fit for our operations.”
Landis+Gyr provides data hosting and management services to utilities such as Central Lincoln. The company’s cloud services let utilities securely access software applications through the cloud to reduce maintenance costs and unburden IT resources.
Dave Connaker, Landis+Gyr’s president of Gridstream MDM solutions adds: “Offering the Gridstream MDMS via the cloud is a significant strategic initiative for the MDM solutions group. Our cloud offering ensures operational simplicity and a price point that ensures utilities of all sizes can benefit from an industry-leading meter data management platform.”
