The Australian government recently announced a decision to roll out smart metering infrastructure in certain states. In response, Victoria has announced the commencement of their state-wide rollout as scheduled for the end of 2008. New South Wales and Queensland have conducted trials, whilst Tasmania and South Australia have indicated that smart metering is not a viable option. The 2nd Annual National Smart Metering and AMI Summit provides delegates with updates on the national roll out of smart metering infrastructure.
