Brazilian Utility to Install Elster Water Meters

COPASA water meter manager Arnaldo Reis Carvalho Filho says, “We are pleased to further expand our use of Elster’s high-quality S120 single-jet water meters to deliver the best possible service to our customers.”

This deal follows COPASA’s selection of Elster in December 2011 to supply 111,000 plastic register cover S120 single-jet water meters to support COPASA’s metering programs. COPASA is one of the leading operators of water services in Brazil and supplies more than three and a half million domestic and business customers in the southeast of Brazil.

Jerry Lauzze, executive vice president of Elster’s global water business, adds: “The COPASA deployment demonstrates Elster’s continued commitment to providing accurate, high quality water meters to the Latin American market as utilities strive to improve water conservation and management.”

Elster is one of the world’s largest electricity, gas and water measurement and control providers, offering distribution monitoring and control, advanced smart metering, demand response, networking and software solutions, and numerous related communications and services.

Elster has more than 200 million metering devices deployed over the course of the last 10 years and provides electricity, gas, water and multi-utility applications for residential, commercial and industrial, and transmission and distribution applications.
