As chief technology architect, Daugherty will be responsible for expanding Accenture’s business in new and emerging technologies as well as managing the growth and development of Accenture’s team of technology architects. He will also continue to lead the company’s Advanced Systems & Technology delivery platform and provide leadership for the company’s digital, web, social media, mobility and cloud computing.
As chief technology innovation officer, Michael will be responsible for guiding the company’s technology vision, research and development agenda, and technology alliances, strategy and execution. He will also lead the Accenture Technology Labs, which applies new and emerging technologies to solve business issues.
Kevin Campbell calls Daugherty and Michael “very experienced and highly regarded innovators and technology architects, and we are very fortunate to have such strong leaders driving Accenture’s technology innovation and architecture teams. As Accenture’s clients look to us for the technology vision and practical know-how we offer as the pace of innovation accelerates, Accenture is well positioned to help them meet the challenges they face in applying the latest technologies to drive business performance.”
Daugherty and Michael are assuming the management responsibilities held by Don Rippert, Accenture’s chief technology officer and managing director of Technology. Rippert is retiring from Accenture to become chief executive of Basho Technologies, an open source software company.
Campbell adds: “I want to thank Don Rippert for his many years of service at Accenture. His passion for driving Accenture’s technology vision and his contributions to the growth of our business has been significant. We wish him nothing but the best in the future.”
